Traverse the starkly beautiful, towering sand dunes of Sossusvlei on this independent journey, trekking by foot and ATV and searching for its unique and hardy wildlife. Day 1: Arrive Windhoek, Namibia
On arrival in Windhoek, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 2: Sossusvlei | Coastal Desert
Transfer by light aircraft to Kulala Desert Lodge, located in the Namib Desert on the 90,000-acre private Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Stay in one of 23 thatched and canvas kulalas (to sleep, in Oshiwambo) with a veranda, each built upon a wooden platform to catch cooling breezes and with a private rooftop, where you may sleep under the stars. The remainder of your day is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer.

Day 3: Sossusvlei | Towering Red Dunes
Activities at Kulala Desert Lodge revolve around early morning guided nature drives to the spectacular red dunes of Sossusvlei some climbing as high as 1,066 feet accessible through a private gate on the Tsauchab River. Return to the lodge for lunch and then perhaps a refreshing dip in the pool. Nature drives, walks and eco-sensitive ATV rides are also on offer.

Day 4: Damaraland | Pristine Huab River Valley
This morning, bid farewell to Sossusvlei and fly to Damaraland Camp. The camp is situated in the Huab River valley with sensational views of the surrounding desert plains, valleys and soaring peaks of the Brandberg Mountains. Owned and largely run by the local community, Damaraland Camp consists of 10 adobe-styled thatched huts, each raised on individual wooden decking which extends to form one large viewing deck overlooking the surrounding landscape. The afternoon is yours to enjoy the game viewing activities on offer.

Day 5: Damaraland | Desert Wilderness Safari
Embark on morning and afternoon game drives and walks through the Huab River system. Delight in the search for desert-adapted elephants as well as gemsboks, greater kudus, springboks and occasionally lions, cheetahs and black rhinos.

Day 6: Damaraland | Beautiful Tribe, Pastoral People
After breakfast, fly to Kamanjab to visit the Otjikandero Himba village, situated on a family farm. Your guided visit grants you rich insight into the life and ways of the Himba, the last traditional tribe in Namibia. Witness Himba rituals such as the milking ceremony and smoke bath, and learn about their beliefs regarding holy fire, ancestors and herbal medicine. Return to camp for the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 7: Ongava Private Nature Reserve | Etosha National Park
This morning, fly to Little Ongava, your next safari camp, located in the private Ongava Game Reserve bordering Etosha National Park. Etosha is Namibia’s premier wildlife destination and one of Africa’s largest game reserves. Large herds of wildlife teem around the waterholes and the endless plains offer breathtaking vistas. Three luxurious and private units make for an intimate camp and safari experience in this beautiful region. Each unit features its own plunge pool, a sala, and an en suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers. Enjoy the activities on offer this afternoon.

Day 8: Ongava Private Nature Reserve | Remarkable Game Views
Enjoy day and night wildlife viewing drives at Little Ongava, walking with experienced guides and visiting camouflaged shelters or hides, that over look watering holes. These hides provide superb photographic opportunities and the chance to spy impressive wildlife. A game drive into the easily accessible Okakuejo area of Etosha National Park are also rewarded with sightings of lions, elephants, gemsboks, springboks, red hartebeest and white and black rhinos.
