For photography, the best time to visit is November through May. Other wildlife includes Leopards, wild boars, sloth bears, chital and loads of beautiful birds and tropical plants.
The photographs of tigers were taken by Bob Mc Millen, founder of Travelwizard.com and his wife Donna in 2009 while on tour in India Our tiger safari began in an open jeep that slowly explored around the park from daylight to dark the first day. Just before sunset we spotted one tiger across a valley about 500 yards away. We got a few long shot photos and were thrilled. The next morning we started before sunrise and traveled to the place where we spotted the tiger the day before. We parked the jeep and waited patiently for the sun to come up. An hour later searching through the binoculars across the valley we heard something in the jungle right behind us. There were two young Bengal Tigers in the jungle looking at us suspiciously. Then to our amazement, the the tigers headed right towards our jeep at a casual pace, stopping here and there until they were only 20 feet away from the jeep. We took hundreds of pictures as the the tigers strolled by our jeep and they over to a ancient hunting stand built for the maharajah centuries ago. Then, to our surprise they climbed into the hunting stand and posed for us for half an hour.
This was a thrill of a lifetime for us, and we’ve been to thrilling places all around the world, but this topped them all. Wow!!! Call, and we’ll arrange and orchestrate this tiger safari just for you. 1 415 827 4981. Bob Mc Millen, CEO Travelwizard.com
