Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is located right on the top of the mountain, a couple of seconds from the actual ruins themselves and thus enjoys a prime position within the sanctuary.  A three and a half hour train journey from Cusco will take you to the colorful Machu Picchu Town. There you will board a bus for the 30 minute drive up the mountain to Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge and the ruins.

Reflecting the casual, intimate atmosphere of a home away from home, the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge has two suites and twenty-nine rooms, twelve of them with an amazing view of the mountains.  Rooms are equipped with a telephone, satellite TV and VCR, radio/alarm clock with docking station, mini bar, safety-deposit box, private bathroom with hair dryer and shower only.  The hotel also offers a laundry service and guests can choose to dine in the privacy of their room.  The Mountain View Rooms with Terrace at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge offer views of the surrounding tropical mountains and forests. Rooms are appointed with twin beds, a terrace with lounge furniture and one dining table.  Belmond Sanctuary Lodge has two comfortable suites, with king size bed, and prime views from the outdoor terrace. The suites benefit from a nice indoor sitting area and a separate bedroom. Suites are 35 square meters in size.

Fine chefs provide guests at the Lodge with a choice of international cuisine and Andean specialties in the hotel’s airy, sunlit restaurant ‘Tampu Restaurant Bar’ which enjoys wonderful views of the majestic surroundings.  Guests of the Lodge and visitors to Machu Picchu can also enjoy a sumptuous lunch in the Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant.  The restaurant, with a capacity of 200, offers pleasant surroundings to relax in and enjoy a delightful lunch.  The lunch buffet offers a wide variety of International and Peruvian dishes, a selection of salads, main courses and desserts.  Every evening, Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant features evening multimedia presentations of the Machu Picchu Citadel and the beauty of its orchids.
