Welcome to Curtain Bluff, Antigua, consistently ranked among the finest resorts and tennis centers in the world. A perfect destination for weddings, family gatherings and spa holidays.

Flanked by water on both sides, Curtain Bluff sits on a rocky promontory (bluff) that juts into the sea between two beautiful beaches. One is calm, ideal for swimming and watersports; the other beach is washed by ocean surf.

72 rooms and suites, all with staggering seascape views, are spread out along the Surf Beach and up the bluff. There are two restaurants: the open-walled Tamarind Tree serving breakfasts and candle-lit dinners, and the Beach Café & Bar, where barefoot-casual lunches are enjoyed one step from the sand and a few feet from the water’s edge.

The resort’s exceptional facilities include a championship tennis center, a fully equipped watersports center (scuba, deep-sea fishing, Windsurfing, paddle-boarding, waterskiing, Hobie Cats and kayaks), a squash court and fitness center. When it’s time to relax, there’s our tranquil spa overlooking the sea, a beachside swimming pool, a beach bar, and hammocks swaying in the shade of coconut palms.

Accommodations

Our 72 spacious suites and guestrooms run along the palm-shaded, white-sand Surf Beach and rise up the rocky promontory that gives the resort its name.

Either right on the sand or just a few steps from it, all our accommodations have breathtaking, gaze-all-day views. Large, floor-to-ceiling windows and verandahs or ground-floor terraces look out over the beach and across the sea to a lush-green headland. At night, the scene is a canopy of stars and the only sound is the rhythm of the waves.

Inside, the accommodations are decorated in a “simply-elegant” tropical style, complete with all the modern luxuries from air-conditioning and over-sized soaking tubs to wood-paneled ceilings, refrigerators and high-speed Internet access. In keeping with the timeless ambiance of the resort, there are no TVs in the rooms (there are two dedicated television rooms elsewhere on the property). Sleeping arrangements are designed for a couple sharing a king-sized bed.

For larger groups there is a lot of flexibility. The king-sized beds can be converted into two twins. Couches can be made into beds for young children sharing a room or suite with their parents. Rooms and suites can be linked together to create the perfect configuration for your needs (up to four bedrooms).

Tennis

Very few resorts can claim the quality and beauty of the courts, the tennis program, pros, equipment and events that you find at Curtain Bluff.

Our Tennis Center has four championship hard courts centered around a Pro Tennis shop an easy lob shot from the sea. All are in impeccable condition and lit for night play. Our three resident pros — Rennie, Nigel and Dillo — are trained in the U.S. to teach aptitudes right up to 5.5 (nearly a pro) and ready at 7:00 AM to take a guest’s challenge, pair guests together for a game, or work on that backhand. Private lessons cost $US 70 per hour. Their enthusiasm and gentle manner is one of the reasons that many of our guests call our tennis program the best in the region.

Weddings & Groups

When boiled down to basics, great vacations celebrate life’s simple pleasures…time with the family or spouse, a good book, a delicious meal, or an outstanding bottle of wine. So it’s not surprising that many of our guests take the celebration concept a step further…getting married and/or honeymooning at Curtain Bluff, organizing family reunions, and gathering groups of old friends. For many, it’s an annual tradition (hopefully not the weddings).

Curtain Bluff is the ideal setting for celebrations of all kinds. It’s large enough to accommodate big groups and there’s room for everyone to spread out to follow their own interests. Yet the resort is small enough that the atmosphere is intimate and you will never get lost in the crowd. We’re happy to discuss extra events just for your party (cocktail parties, sporting challenges, etc.) and extend special discounts.

If you have a group needing 50 rooms or more, our “All-resort Buyout” is the most economical option. And that way you get the whole resort to yourselves. Pricing depends on the time of year, extra activities and the number of guests.
