Nagaland
The state of Nagaland is located in the north eastern region of India, next to Burma. This state is very mountainous with tropical and sub-tropical forests rich in bamboo and timber.
There is a rich mixture of wild animals here, including elephants, leopards, buffalo, monkeys and 100’s of species of exotic birds.
The tribes of Nagaland have a rich culture and local traditions that include unique weaving and carving by each specific tribe. The Hornbill festival was started to bring all the tribes together to show off their art work and folklore.
Christianity is the most popular religion in this area. Agricultural pursuits are the biggest revenue producer in this state.
