Sikkim
Sikkim is located in the Himalayan Mountains and is a landlocked state. It is next to Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. Because of its location, Sikkim has a very diverse terrain, from sub-tropical to alpine. The Capital City is Gangtok, also the biggest city.
This is a popular tourist destination because of the beautiful scenery and interesting cultural attractions. There are over 4998 varieties of flowers, 514 species of orchids, numerous bamboo species, 36 different rhododendrons, 16 different conifers, 361 species of ferns, 8 fern trees and over 420 medicinal plants in this state because of the varying elevations and terrain.
Some of the rarest animals in the world live in this state. Snow Leopards, red pandas, clouded leopards, leopard cats, marbled cats, jungle cats, civet cats, alpine yaks, Himalayan black bears, and over 549 species of birds, just to name a few.
