Adventure Island: A 36-acre water theme park open from February-October features 17 water play areas, pools and slides including the new Key West Rapids, the “Aruba Tuba” inner tube flume, and the “Spike Zone” volleyball park.
Busch Gardens: Beautiful gardens (for botannical enthusiasts), wild animals (for zoo enthusiasts) – this park has something for all ages but seems best known for its outstanding rides. One of them – the “Montu” is the worlds’s tallest and longest inverted steel rollercoaster. This major attraction of Tampa offers a full day – or more – of activity for those of all ages. And don’t forget the shopping, live entertainment and restaurants.
Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park: 75 miles N of Tampa/St. Pete, HWY 19. Six million gallons of fresh water bubble up from this spring every day and form the headwaters of the Homosassa River. Watch more than 34 varieties of fish as you walk under the “Fish Bowl Spring”, visit manatees, and see educational demonstrations. Allow at least 3 hours to see the park.
